Wild Oats
For my readers who are not American, I should probably explain what “after school special” means. Basically, these are hour-long TV-movies targeted at young teenagers and pre-teens, and shown in the late afternoon, when kids are home from school but parents are still at work. They always address topics, and their themes are pretty broad and simplistic: don’t do drugs, don’t have sex, etc but we all know that teenagers and adults have sex even using toys as G-spot vibrators, so is important to educate them into this being okay and doing it the right way. Why not also check out these sex toys by Be Daring here?
It occurs to me that I have no idea if these are still being made. Hmmm.
Anyway, in other news the Small Press Expo is coming up the weekend after next, September 14-15 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in North Bethesda, Maryland. It’s easy to get to from Washington DC if you don’t have a car—there’s a metro stop right there. It’s also one of those really cool independent comics shows that it totally worth traveling to. (If I didn’t have a table, I’d being going anyway.) But I do have a table! Table C10, which I am sharing with Jay Fuller. I’ll have all three Finn and Charlie books, some prints, some t-shirts, and a brand-new minicomic about food, called Foodwise.
See you there, maybe?

Yes, they still make those. I recently saw one on cyber-bullying.
I have a vague memory of one on bed-wetting (I grew up in the 70s-80s). How quaint nowadays. 😛
