True Turtleneck Tips
I wrote this comic this weekend, and then Land’s End sent me a catalog today; I was absentmindedly flipping through it, and whoops, there were the turtlenecks, right in the middle. But I guess if anyone still sells turtlenecks, it should be Land’s End, right? I mean, I remember a time when turtlenecks were sold everywhere.
I feel like filling my life with brown and gold turtlenecks as a powerful 1970’s statement.
That’s probably not practical.
Hey, here’s a picture of Hugh Hefner in a turtleneck (courtesy of the local Chicago blog Calumet 412). Did you know Hef was once young? I mean, I suppose I knew he had been—you know, logically—and yet somehow that picture was a surprise to me.
Let’s all wear turtlenecks tomorrow.

Gentlemen prefer blondes, but Gentlemen marry brunettes ;P
I am not burly but my nipples still show anyway. 🙁
I deem thee “immodest”! Harlot. 😉
Ever seen a guy whose shirt was so tight you could see the outline of chest hairs through it?
My t-shirts are often so thin that my belly hairs poke through. I keep trying to pull them off my shirt thinking they are dropped beard hairs. But they are not.
I’m actually wearing a Land’s End turtleneck today, with a retro fuzzy brown sweater. Does this mean I am (accidentally) fashionable?
No, thought not.
For some reason I got a land’s end AND and LLBean catalog in the mail this week. Two flash back catalogs! When I was in high school in the 90s, my grunge-y friends and I supplemented our thrift store finds with LLBean plaid and sturdy pants.
I love this idea for tomorrow but don’t think I have any turtlenecks anymore…which is making me weirdly sad.
I *knew* it was nipple…
That picture totally blew my mind. Not only was Hef once young, he was actually quite attractive.
Who’d have known?
I know, right? Doesn’t everything about Hef make more sense now?
