Interview me!
Greetings!
Guess what? It’s commissioned art time again! Once again I’m pimping myself out for the benefit of The Chicago Independent Radio Project — we are very close to being ready to launch, and should be streaming around the time of the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago this July. EXCITEMENT!
But maybe you do not care. That’s OK. You can still buy some lovely commissioned drawings, even if you don’t care where the money goes. Big drawings (about 11″x14″) are $50, small ones (about 5″x7″) are $25. I will draw just about anything you want.
If you are interested, hop on over to The Chicago Independent Radio Project, find the “donate” link over on the left, follow that, and send them the money. Then send me an email at hitched [at] tonybreed [dot] com and we’ll talk.
Other things coming later this year: books, t-shirts, and prints. Wheeee!
[UPDATE] So probably you’ve heard the news that prop 8 was upheld in California, but that existing marriages will be allowed to stand. So Finn and Charlie are still married, but if Charlie’s friend Kevin wants to get married, he’ll have to fly out some place like Iowa (which might not be recognized in California now anyway; we’ll see how that plays out).
So here’s a question, and let me know in the comments below: if you are thinking about buying commissioned art, would you want me to accept a donation to HRC in place of CHIRP?

Hey! Saw an ad for your webcomic and it looked cute, and it is, so here I am! Thanks for posting the comic on intarblags for everyone, including me, to enjoy!
Hey, don’t know if you heard the news, but the California Supreme Court upheld the ban on same-sex marriage, but they’re letting the marriages before the ban stay legal. Thought I’d say semi-congratulations, because if I remember right, you and your guy got married when it was legalized.
Thanks! I did know that.
The court overturning the proposition was quite a longshot. I was surprised there was a case for them to overturn it at all. Similarly, it was unlikely they’d invalidate marriages that had already gone through, since that would go against precedent. So I’m not surprised at the outcome. Still, there was reason to hope it would be overturned, and reason to fear existing marriages would be invalidated.
So we have a copy of our license, and it’s still valid, so yay! On the other hand, there’s been no change in Illinois, not to mention nationally, so what we have is basically a valid but unrecognized marriage.
Panel two elicited a high-pitched, cackling “HEH-HAW!” from yours truly. Which is odd, because I’m normally a baritone…
(The beauty part of that panel is, he thinks he’s being helpful!)
Oh Charlie! <3 <3 You're so misunderstood. <3 <3
