A Benny Shaved is a Benny Urned
The punchline to an old joke I think I heard on the Muppet Show as a child. Only slightly related to this week’s comic, coming at you ever-so-slightly early.
[Update: Now I remember: it wasn’t the Muppet Show, I’m pretty sure it was the Jackie Gleason show. Yes, I went through a phase of watching the Jackie Gleason show on PBS. Kind of inexplicable.]
Thus endeth the mustache sequence.
That joke *was* on The Muppet Show! The Peter Ustinov episode, IIRC. Fozzie Bear, of course joined in the fun.
However, there’s no reason it couldn’t have been on The Jackie Gleason Show as well.
