Nothing gets past Candy
Ugh, on a night when I knew I’d be behind in making the comic, why did I chose a joke that involves drawing so much food?
On an unrelated note, my new book is finally available for sale here on the site! Just visit the store and you can order it there. Buy it for yourself, buy it for your loved ones.
Finally: I know a number of my readers are not native speakers of English, and I used to teach English as a foreign language, many years ago. (It’s why I made Charlie an English teacher.) One of the things I used to teach was idioms. As I was drawing tonight, I thought about what an odd idiom “bound to” is. Odd — but very useful. I know I use it a lot. So, English language learners, now you have (maybe) a new idiom. Please use it in three sentences tomorrow. Thanks.

I like the shifty look on Finn’s face in the last panel – an unusual expression to see you draw, I think. Evocative.
Thanks. I had trouble with it. In the end I’d drawn so and erased many versions in blueline that I couldn’t tell what it would look like anymore. Glad it came off… though truth be told, I was going more for “chagrined” than “shifty”.
Yaay on the second book! I will pick that up as soon as I can. Maybe it’ll be a Christmas present for myself.
