So I’ve been drawing the fat pony every week, and this week I got an urge to throw in another to instead. Kids are fickle; why not? So this week Katie is playing with Flora the chicken, from Templar, AZ. Spike (who draws Templar) just had a bunch of plush Flora dolls made up, and she sold a whole bunch at San Diego Comicon. They look like this.
I did not go to SDCC, for a handful of reasons. I wanted to go, but in many ways it was just too complicated. One complication: I’m at a conference right now. A professional conference: An Event Apart in Minneapolis, which is really a great conference. So… if you’re reading this and you are a web designer or developer or whatever and you are the conference, I’m somewhere in the audience with you. Everyone else, sorry, I’m not wherever you are, though I’m sure it’s lovely.
In the meantime, I’m realizing it’s time to redesign this site. It could be a whole hell of a lot nicer. So as I embark on this, I’d love some feedback. Is there anything you love or hate about the site and the way it works? Do you read it on a computer or a smart phone or what? Leave a comment below. You can be honest, I won’t be offended. Unless you’re going to, say, get angry that I won’t massage your toes for you. Because frankly I’ve seen your toes and you should be ashamed.
Mike: Thanks, guys — my mom will be over here soon to take over watching Katie.
Finn: No problem! Uh… good luck?
Charlie: So, Katie! Are you excited to have a new brother?
Katie: Mr. Biscuits likes to eat cheese.
Charlie [to Finn]: … I don't know how to talk to kids.
Katie: Mr. Biscuits wants you to get him a juice box.

Don’t change anything, less is more.
Hey! My toes are NICE! Cute, even.
I like the site as is – it’s clean and efficient, but maybe a full archive, rather than a month at a time, might be nice?
The template is ok, what matters is the content (Finn and Charlie (\o/)) Don’t worry, it’s nice.
Just more of the side characters listed in the cast, otherwise, the site’s fine.
I agree that I like the site the way it is, for the most part. I would like a fuller cast listing as “A.” suggests.
I also agree that it’s difficult to get back to the beginning to read the whole archive in order, but I managed it and that’s done now.
I do have an RSS feed to this site on my BlackBerry smartphone, but there is no way to actually read it on there because the strips get scaled down to 240 pixels wide. Whatever James Asal did with Adam and Andy a few weeks ago it’s possible to view only the strip graphic and that can be done “actual size” so it is now possible to read that strip directly on my BlackBerry, though I still prefer the computer.
I really like the way things are. -although it took me a minute to figure out you had to scroll all the way down to the bottom to leave this message. I’m special that way hah- but seriously I think you’re doing a fantastic job!
Hello! Just joined in on your wonderful world! Great strips! I can’t remember when I laughed so much, and now I can finally go to sleep, since I’m all caught up. And they say being bored and having the internet leads to bad things. Psh!
I can’t wait for more strips, too, and I’m sad I missed commissions as well as Christmas cards! Yikes! Anyways, I’m taking too long. Thanks again for making a great cartoon! Ciao!
Thanks, everyone for the feedback — and welcome, De Vil!
Sounds like better content navigation is something folks want, and an updated cast page. Me, I’m getting a little tired of orange and yellow, and I’ll probably do something about that, too. When I get the chance.
