Romance!

Greetings, folks.

I was very gratified, a few days ago, to find out that Prism comics just reviewed my book. It’s a very good review! Prism is a cool organization, and I was pleased to volunteer with them at APE in San Francisco last fall. They do good work.

I will be coming out with a second book some time this year. When it’s ready, you’ll hear about it here!

And oh yeah, one more thing: I’ll be participating in a panel on gay comics at the inaugural C2E2 (The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo) on Friday evening, April 16th. Come see me as I chat with a bunch of other talented Chicagoland-area LGBT comics writers, illustrators and scholars!

Charlie: … Oh hey… yesterday was Valentine's Day, wasn't it?
Finn: Yes I think it was

Charlie: Hmm. I love you!
Finn: I know. I love you too.
Charlie: That's good

Not to toot my own horn – what a weird expression that is – I reviewed your book too. :D

  2. Tony says:

    Aha! So you did!

    Here it is at Comixtreme.com

    THANKS!

(And that is kind of a funny expression)

We have a regular, similar conversation in our house:

Me: “You like me or something?”
    B: “Yeah.”
Me: “That’s good, because otherwise I’d have to beat you up.”

Ok… I just discovered your comic yesterday, read the whole thing, bought your book, and then re-read and commented in various spots today. I LOVE IT! You are such an inspiration and super funny, as well as being true to life. I really appreciate your creativity. Thank you so much and I will be sure to check back often! ~Bobby Joe

  5. Tony says:

Thanks Bobby Joe! I appreciate your comments. You make me feel warm and giggly.

This might be in my future. :) My long-distance partner moved in with me 10 days before Valentine’s and I did really get a change to shop for gifts or anything.

Last year, I sent him chocolates and a rainbow flag and a few other small items and a card. This year, we just went out to dinner at a medium priced place. There was some significance to it, though. Last year we eat Thai dinner together over the web from local restaurants in our respective cities. This year, we ate together at the same Thai place I got take-out from last year.

Next, year, who knows, but hopefully we won’t be like an “old married couple” quite that fast, although we already have some of th signs. :)

  7. Tony says:

Congratulations, Neil! That’s awesome. I wish you and Eric the best of luck!

May I just express how much I love Finn and Charlie’s tiny couch and how they both squish into it together? Because I do.
