Today’s comic is by the very talented Jon Macy! Remember that guest comics are non-canon.
Jon is currently working on “Teleny and Camille”, an adaptation of the anonymous Victorian novel attributed to Oscar Wilde and his circle. It will be out for Wondercon the first week of April. You can read more about it at www.jonmacy.com (some images there are NSFW).
Me, I’m taking time off from comicking to launch a new radio station. It’ll be up and running at noon, central time (GMT-0600), this Sunday January 17, at chirpradio.org. Come check it out!
And THANKS, JON!

Charlie: Well, I solved the problem with the bald spot on my leg.
Finn: You did?
Charlie: Yeah. I shaved my legs, now nobody will notice.
Finn: ! Yah! You look like a dolphin dipped in baby oil and having an estrogen overdose!
Charlie: Hmmm, maybe I should shave my whole body.
Finn: I don't know you.

Im with Finn. If my guy becomes a smoothie, that’s what i would say to him til he regrows his hair back. LOL!
Jon did a nice job with his guest comics, but i didnt realize Charlie had a girlish figure. Was this unintentional on the part of the artist? I knew Charlie was lanky, but is he a fuzzy twink type?
Just wondering!
Well, you know, guest strips aren’t canon
I can’t speak for Jon, but I think he was playing up the girlishness of Charlie, post-shave, for the purpose of the joke.
It’s really fun to see other artists interpret your characters. I think for Charlie to obsess over a bold spot on his legs is in character, and for Finn to be nonplussed about Charlie shaving is in character, but for Finn to actually shave his legs… probably not? Probably not. It’s hard to know. I used to think writers were pretentious when they said things like “my characters surprise me sometimes” but now I understand.
As to the “fuzzy twink” question… is that a new category? There’s SO much to keep up with these days
I would not have used the word “twink”, myself, but I also wouldn’t call him an “otter’.
My mom is going to read this and have no idea what I’m talking about.
Lol, im not even sure if there is such an category… i came up with that for a lack of a better word.
Yea, i enjoy guest strips also as a reader cause its also interesting how guest artists imagine the characters in their own style. I have seen some really good ones and some tragic ones. This is easily one of the good ones.
Ohh, and good luck with your radio station!
Scandia, you took the words right out of my mouth: “I’m with Finn.” I’ve already had the “you’ll have to grow it back” discussion with my guy a few weeks ago. What can I say? I like what I like.
As for whether threatening to shave his whole body is out of character, Charlie was very excited only a few weeks ago to discover a new chest hair, so this would be a bit of a reversal.
Good point!
