Yep – “May you live in interesting times.” really is an ancient curse. If you think about it, in boring times you get your crops in, no one invades, no natural disasters, people don’t starve. In interesting times…. Well, invasions, disease, flood, earthquakes – all of which means you don’t get your crops in and people starve.
