Man, now I feel old – I don’t recognize any of these names. Can I go back to listening to early REM and pretending they’re still indie-college-radio?
Ah well, it takes work to keep up on this stuff. Before I was volunteering at a radio station, I could not have written today’s comic…I never knew what was new.
But since I am keeping up on this these days, I can recommend Laura Marling, John Vanderslice, and Wild Flag. And other stuff.
I do miss early R.E.M. Ah well, life goes on, we get old.
It’s time to make a spinoff comic strip, methinks. “A bit of Kris and Ken.”
