The very first Finn and Charlie cartoon I drew involved Charlie shaving while Finn read a book in bed. So I suppose this kind of revisits that cartoon. Only in a different way. Or something.

Just finished reading through all your comics, and I gotta say, I’m hooked.
Great job with these guys
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Wow – Charlie has a real pornstache in that final panel!
It was inspired by the mustache of a hipster who worked at the Minneapolis restaurant where we ate on Saturday afternoon. So it’s more of a hipster mustache… but you know hipster mustaches are all either derived from pornstaches or steam-punkstache.
I kind of like the mustache.
Hee hee! Charlie’s kinda cute with the mustache. Too bad it’s so un-Charlie like. And I love the dialog in panel 2. Now, THAT’S a couple right there.
Am I the only one excited to see Finn hanging out naked on the bed? Not in a creepy way, but just appreciative.
No, Alex, you’re not.
Alex — judging from previous feedback I have gotten: no, you are not. A little nudity (perhaps especially a little Finn nudity?) is always appreciated.
So I make sure to throw some out there from time to time. But only if it fits the plot/situation. And not so often that it starts to take over.
Do any of you remember an alternative superhero comic in the late 80′s called “The Elementals”? It was a good story, and broke all kinds of Comics Code rules, which was a big deal at the time (for a superhero comic). But the series fizzled out. It seemed to me that the creator got more interested in the cheesecake calendars of his female characters that he was making the series work.
Anyway, you have my word I will not do that to you.
But OMG, would you guys buy beefcake calendars if I made them? (IDEA!)
Oh sure, I’d buy a calendar. Especially if Charlie is still sporting that mustache.
I would so entirely buy a finn/charlie beefcake calendar! BUT, I think you should do a Dilbert calendar style thing: so, the main pic is one of the boys in a speedo or something, and then beneath there is a strip (not that kind, no matter how thematically appropriate).
I’d buy a standard sized desk calendar. The ones large enough, with a few lines for writing appointments in and such.
I would so love a calendar!
