Today’s comic is about record-collecting, which reflects one of my current projects: The 8th Annual CHIRP Record Fair, which is happening this coming weekend, April 10-11, here in Chicago, as a benefit for CHIRP, the Chicago Independent Radio Project. For $7 admission (or $5 if you print out the flyer from the website) you can dig through crates of vinyl, listen to great local bands and DJs, and more. There will be food for sale from Irazú (a Costa Rican restaurant whose food is so, so good) and beer from Goose Island. You can even get a caricature done by Plastic Crimewave. Fun!

You’ll find me, most of the weekend, at the custom button table. Buy a record, we’ll scan it, and make a button for you for $2! That’s crazy cheap. (If you’d prefer, I can draw you something for a button.) We’ll be right next to the custom t-shirt people! We’ve got a whole customization thing going on.

Of course, most of you aren’t in Chicago. That’s how it goes sometimes. But wherever you are you can listen to our radio station, CHIRP Radio (currently online-only at CHIRPradio.org, broadcasting 6am-midnight every night, some nights till 3am) — I have a show Friday mornings, 6-9am central time.

And if you’d like to support the Chicago Independent Radio Project, we are doing an online fund-raising drive at CHIRPradio.org/yearone. Nifty premiums available! Tell ‘em Tony sent you and they will give me kudos and back-slaps.

Maybe you don’t care so much about music. That’s OK too. I promise to keep making comics featuring hairy legs, relationship jokes, and saucy coworkers, an you will find a new one here every week.
